Vivienne Nano & Marty Lawler

“What’s most important to us is family, community, adventures and the magnificent planet we are fortunate enough to call home.

We are very excited at the prospect of forming community with like minded folk and creating homes with as small an eco footprint as we can manage. The journey together thus far has been lots of fun (how does that disco ball feature so regularly???). We have enjoyed the robust discussions, ironing out some of the preliminary concepts and potential issues and walking around the block visualising what we want to create together. 

As a mindful builder, Marty has plenty of ideas and experience around maximising effective use of natural resources (sun, wind, orientation, building materials). Besides being very excited about this aspect of the project, Viv is a keen veggie gardener and passionate pickler and preserver so can’t wait to get gardens and orchards up and going.

At our last meeting, Marty said that he visualised our community being like a nest. Somewhere we can retreat to at times to relax and replenish ourselves. We all liked that notion and I think it will become a central theme of our community.”
